A very interesting variation on a local story. Roeland Park, KS at one point put a speed limit sign up that showed 34 miles per hour meant to bring awareness to the driving speed. The sign was intended to only stay up for a couple of weeks, then be put away as art in some art studio.
There is another town in TN that has speed limit signs all over their little 4000 person town that say 31 is the speed limit. Apparently this town has kept the speed at 31 since the 1960s. This story can be found at Speed Limit 31? . Do you think this cuts down on speeding tickets? My guess is that anyone not familiar with that town would be totally thrown off by the signs, then once they got used to them, it would be business (and speeding) as usual. Thoughts?
